The digitization of the Gostiny Dvor documentation has been completed in Kyiv. This was announced by Andriy Gudz, director of the Department of Communal Property of the city of Kyiv.
According to him, without restoration work, one of the capital's key historical monuments could suffer serious damage and even complete destruction. Therefore, digitizing documents is a strategic step that will allow preserving historical drawings, plans, and archival records, as well as preventing any unjustified interference with the structure of the Guest House.
Now we have a guarantee that the Guest Courtyard can be restored in its authentic form, without distortion or loss of historical value, says Andriy Hudz.
Hundreds of pages of archival materials have been digitized, making them accessible to researchers, restorers, and the public. The use of modern technologies has made it possible to secure this data and minimize the risks of its loss or damage.
The Department of Communal Property says that digitizing historical documents helps preserve cultural heritage and protects architectural monuments from distortion.
