In Kyiv, a high-rise building stopped a fire on its own after being hit by a "shaheed": how is this possible
A new high-rise building in the center of Kyiv stopped the fire from spreading after the "shaheed" hit thanks to modern fire-fighting systems and compliance with building regulations. This is reported by the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine (KBU).
We are talking about a skyscraper in the Pechersk district of the city (probably the Jack House residential complex on Lesya Ukrainka Boulevard), which was targeted by a Russian attack UAV on the night of November 7. "Shahed" hit the upper floors of the building and caused partial destruction of structures on the 34th technical floor and a fire on the 33rd.
Although this floor was partially damaged, the fire did not spread to other parts of the building. This became possible thanks to modern fire-fighting systems and compliance with building regulations, says the KBU.
There, they believe that it was compliance with State building regulations, compliance with fire resistance standards, and the use of modern fire-fighting technologies that made it possible to avoid serious destruction and casualties among residents. The house actually "extinguished" the fire itself and did not allow the fire to spread to the entrance.
The KBU explains that modern splinker fire extinguishing systems are capable of independently detecting, localizing and extinguishing fires by spraying water or foam solution in the right place. So, thanks to the combination of high fire resistance of the structures and the splinker system, the fire remained localized and did not cause significant damage to the building.
It should be noted that the apartment of the Estonian Ambassador to Ukraine Anneli Kolk is located in this building. She herself and her home were not injured.
We will remind you that in the Brovary district of the Kyiv region, works on the capital repair of the Krasyli Lyceum , which was damaged at the beginning of the full-scale war, are being completed. Windows were broken in the building, doors and roof were damaged, interior walls and facade were damaged. Now the lyceum has been completely restored.
