About this
The capital's application “Kyiv Digital” has received another update — now users can use intelligent search.
The feature is already available in beta, and, according to the developers, it should turn an ordinary city application into a real digital assistant for Kyiv residents.
What is intelligent search and why is it needed?
Until now, to find the service you need — for example, to pay for parking, submit an application to the ASN, or check the balance of an e-ticket — users had to go through several sections.
Now everything is easier:
Just enter a query in the search bar on the home screen, and the application will instantly offer the desired service or information.
The Kyiv Digital team explains that the system understands the user's intent, not just the exact words. This means that even if a person doesn't remember the exact name of a function, the search will still find it.
How the new system works
Intelligent search combines several approaches that make working with the service as intuitive as possible:
Keyword search
Enter, for example, “map”, “CENTRAL CENTER”, “sound”, “OSBB” — and the system will automatically redirect you to the appropriate section.
Search by numbers
If you enter a number, the application will show you the public transport route or parking lot with that number.
Contextual search
The innovation “reads” not only the names of services, but also the texts of pages, help and instructions, so the user will receive an answer even for a common word or phrase.
Smart search is placed right on the home screen, and the system provides answers instantly — without transitions or delays.
“Digital Kyiv” step by step
The feature is currently in beta, but developers are already collecting user feedback to improve the algorithm.
In the future, this search should turn into a full-fledged city assistant that will be able not only to find information within the application, but also to help with external requests - from transportation issues to utility services.
“We want Kyiv Digital to become not just a set of functions, but an intelligent assistant for Kyiv residents who understands what the user needs here and now,” the project team noted.
