Ukraine may introduce mandatory identification of mobile subscribers and start turning off communications during drone attacks

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence supported
A meeting of the subcommittee on cybersecurity, government communications, and cryptographic information protection was held.
▪️Topic of the meeting: operation of Russian UAVs through the infrastructure of mobile operators. Use of SIM cards.
✔️In addition to people's deputies, representatives of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, intelligence agencies, and mobile operators participated in the meeting.
☑️We discussed the following agenda items:
➖Regarding mandatory identification of all (new and existing) mobile subscribers (do you see a need for it, what are the pros/cons, risks, suggestions).
➖Temporary (for the period of air alert) shutdown of mobile communications in certain areas where enemy UAVs fly.
➖Other proposals for combating Russian UAVs that use SIM cards.
✔️Certain practical steps are planned to prepare a solution to the problem of using UAVs by Russians through the infrastructure of mobile operators.
Given the sensitivity of the issue, we cannot go into details. But the work continues….
