Shelter dogs in the spotlight: the actors of the movie "Dogs" on the red carpet of MUZVAR AWARDS 2024
The team of the new Ukrainian film "Dogs", the premiere of which is scheduled for March 6, 2025, made a bright appearance on the red carpet of the MUZVAR AWARDS 2024 music award. Together with actors Olga Sumskaya, Iryna Soponaru, Dmytro Sova, Cook Danilo, as well as producer Anna Eliseeva and the owner of Gostomel Shelter Maria Vronskaya on the star track dogs appeared from the shelter, where more than 700 dogs and cats are today.
The purpose of the campaign is to draw attention to the problem of homeless animals and to remind that every dog deserves a loving family.
"We want to show that shelter dogs are not a problem, but incredible friends who can become part of your family. They are capable of love no less than thoroughbreds, and each of them has its own unique story and character," says actress Olga Sumska.
Caring for animals is one of the key themes in the upcoming romantic comedy film Dogs. During filming, the team collaborated with the Gostomel Shelter, from where they took several four-legged actors. Performances like the one at the MUZVAR AWARDS 2024 are part of a broader initiative to encourage adoption of animals from shelters and thereby help overcrowded shelters.
"We are always happy to support large media projects, because it helps to change stereotypes about shelter animals. We hope that thanks to this promotion, one of our dogs will find a home. There were dogs on the red carpet who are currently looking for families," said shelter owner Marie Vronska.
Special guests of the event are four-legged heroes:
Lady (1.5 years old) is a young dog who was abandoned at a shelter in 2023. Now she is happy, healthy and dreams of a home.
Verona (2–3 years old) is an adult dog rescued by the military from the Kharkiv region. After evacuation in October this year, she is ready to become part of the family.
Zhuzha (8 years old) is a calm and wise dog, evacuated from the front-line territory. She is waiting for a home where she can live in comfort and love.
Budda (6 years old) is a balanced dog evacuated from the Sumy region. He dreams of finding a family that will give him warmth and care.
Lalelya (5 months) is a small, gentle girl who started her life on the street and was later taken to a shelter. An ideal small dog for the apartment, which will become a great friend for its new family.
* The film "Dogs" is a new project of FILM.UA Group, created with the support of the New Channel. The premiere will take place on March 6, 2025. This is a bright, witty, but at the same time emotional comedy, which was the acting debut of TV presenter Lesya Nikityuk. Among the four-legged actors of the film are more than 100 dogs, including animals from the Gostomel Shelter.
*Gostomel Shelter is a private shelter that provides care and rehabilitation for dogs and cats that have lost their homes. The shelter proves with its own experience that homeless animals can be kind and loyal friends who deserve a second chance.
